As the conflict in the Middle East escalates, tens of thousands of families are fleeing their homes, desperately seeking safety. Life-saving emergency aid is being provided by Fr. Daniel Corrou SJ and his team.

“Children in particular are in urgent need of support!” Fr Daniel Corrou SJ

On September 23, after a series of rocket attacks by Hezbollah, the Israeli armed forces launched a large-scale military operation, unleashing devastating airstrikes on dozens of cities across Lebanon, including Sidon, Nabatieh, Tyre, the Bekaa Valley, and Beirut’s southern suburbs.

Hundreds of people have been killed, thousands injured, and tens of thousands more are now displaced, seeking refuge in Beirut and other safer areas.

“The need for temporary shelters, food and emergency supplies is growing by the hour. This crisis has stretched our teams and the people we serve to their limitsFr Daniel

For over a decade, we have been serving Syrian and Iraqi refugee families, offering home visits, psychosocial care, education for children, and support for women. But now, with many of team displaced from their own homes and the situation deteriorating, we urgently need your help to continue providing critical emergency aid.

The conflict has left many Syrian refugees and migrant workers feeling helpless and trapped. Children, who have already endured unimaginable hardships, are particularly vulnerable. These children need urgent support to ensure they have access to the basics: food, shelter and care. Your help can provide the relief they need to survive this crisis.

Our emergency response includes:

  • Distributing hygiene products and mattresses to those in need
  • Providing food in emergency shelters
  • Offering refuge to vulnerable migrants, who have been turned away from other facilities

Our teams and volunteers are working tirelessly to respond, but the situation remains extremely tense, and our resources are limited. We are facing an uncertain future, but we remain committed to walking with those in need. We pray for peace and for the strength to continue the critical work of reconciliation and healing, shares Fr Daniel.
