At Loyola High School in Mabibo Farasi, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, students are encouraged to aim for high academic achievement while developing their spiritual and emotional lives. The ultimate goal for all the young people is integrated personal development as individuals and as members of larger society.
A spirit of social justice is instilled in the students and community service is compulsory for all. Different classes take turns to visit a different program at least six times in a year. A variety of working student groups enables the young people to be actively involved with local communities and take part in activities such as fundraising, visiting children and the homes of sick or elderly people.
The school contributes to SDG 4:’ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning’ of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
